| Info: | The 24rd gathering of Lotus owners in North America.
It is time to register for this September's Lotus Owner's Gathering. The biggest annual gathering of Lotus Owners in North America
takes place in Birmingham, Alabama this year. Especially exciting in this year
of the arrival of the Federal Elise is the Lotus exhibit at Barber Motorsports
Park, where the Track Lapping session will take place on Monday the 13 th.
Dan Gurney will be the keynote speaker at Saturday's banquet.
And, you will get to meet the new officers at Lotus Cars USA. A LOG is an experience that is not to be missed.
For those who are game to DRIVE the 1000 miles from NJ to AL, we will once again be coordinating caravans.
We will be travelling inland via Interstate routes 81, 75, and 59.
We are meeting folks from Massachusetts and the DC area.
Overnight stop will be at the either the Red Roof Inn in Troutville, VA (just north of Roanoke on I81) ~$50 per night, AARP 10% off) or the Travelodge (~$49).
If time permits a 40 minute drive near the Red Roof would be fun
The Blue Ridge Parkway is nearby and so is VA Rt. 43.
A 400-mile trip the first day and 500 miles the second day is the plan. An early start on Friday will get us to Birmingham in plenty of time to freshen up before the Friday Reception.
If you are trailering, we have one member planning on using alternating drivers to get there in one marathon trip.
I also know of a member planning on two days each way. Contact me if you want info: carbuff@lotusowners.com or 201-852-9742
Since not everyone will be staying for Monday's track day we could have two groups for driving. One
to leave Monday, Sept 13 and the other Tuesday, Sept 14. Let me know your plans and I'll hook you
up.
I'll be coordinating the Monday departure group. Same itinerary as before: two-day trip, overnighting at Troutville in VA.
If you are staying the extra day contact me & I'll put you in touch with the Track Day participants.
Anyone inclined to join us let me know!
Indicate if you will be driving or trailering.
Bring your FRS Radios and cell phones for in-car communication.
If you want to ride with someone (or have an extra seat and want to share) we have some leads on that, also.
