Track day at Summit Point with Ferrari/Maserati of Washington

October 22-23, 2005

When:Saturday October 22, 2005 - Sunday October 23, 2005
Where:Summit Point Raceway, Summit Point, West Virginia
Contact:joseph@saturnia.org (908) 358-5314
Info: The good people at Ferrari/Maserati of Washington have extended an invitation to LEO members to join them at their 2-day track event they have scheduled at Summit Point (West Virginia) in October. These events are normally offered by FMoW to their customers and friends, including the Mid-Atlantic Ferrari Club of America.

Instructors are provided, and mandatory for novices. Passing is permitted only in designated areas of the straightaways, and wheel-to-wheel racing is strictly prohibited. Lunch is provided, as are plenty of Ferraris to pass ;) Attendees should arrange with their mechanics to complete the required safety inspection form some time prior to the event. Also be aware that the "Advanced Sport" group is chiefly for fully race-prepared cars, and thick with Ferrari Challenge and Porsche Supercup cars, but even they have to maintain a nervous watch on their mirrors for the occasional F40 or 333SP.

Forms and more information at http://www.fwash.com/news/new-trwelc.html. If you're interested in attending, please contact Redding Finney at FMoW and mention that you're a LEO/Lotus Ltd. member.

Jim Cummings attended a previous event and says they're a bargain at $175/day, and have been some of the most enjoyable track days he's attended. Also, in a sea of red Ferraris, people love to come up to you and talk about your Lotus.
