Trip Report: Our August 20th gathering came off well. We assembled at the showroom of Sports and Specialists Cars in Hopewell for coffee and crumpets, then took off to the North along a wonderful route laid out by Al Navarro. More than twenty cars took the starting flag. (A few members stopped by just to visit in the morning, we were glad to see them since they hadn't been around for a while!)

The entourage enjoyed the mostly 60 MPH county routes until we got past the town of Ringoes. There, we were to follow CR 579 towards Pittstown as it turned left, then right…and OF COURSE someone forgot to do the right turn! So the rest of us waited a bit for our trusty "sheep-dawg" David Nagler to round up those who went astray.

Then once past Pittstown we descended into Frenchtown and parked behind the local bank. Nice little village on the banks of the Delaware! After walking around and sampling the neighborhood cuisine, we assembled for the trek back to Hopewell. Instead of taking the direct route we snuck into town on some delightfully narrow back roads.

Once back at the dealership, we were treated to a detailing session by George Withers of G-Wiz Detailing (owner of a beautiful blue '97). He used his practiced hand on a classic 60s Austin Healey and gave us all a chance to try his methods. George waxed the whole car in four minutes...we timed him!
br> George also gave out some professional detailing products to those attending, FREE! Thanks for a WONDERFUL lesson.
